When you take all of your purchases seriously, you will be able to resist the temptation to make a frivolous purchase that you will later regret. Even though you do not have to pay the money for the purchase right way, you will have to start making payments when you credit card statement arrives.

Many credit cards come with other benefits such as accumulating points you can use toward other purchases. This is the case with many of the credit cards offered by large companies. When you make a purchase a percentage of the amount goes into a points balance. Then when you shop at that store again, you can have these points credited toward the cost of your purchase, thus reducing the price you would have to pay. If you are making a large purchase and you do have the cash available to pay for it, it would be to your advantage to use your credit card just to obtain the points. Then after a few days when the purchase has been added to your account, you can pay off the balance. This way you do not pay any interest charges and you get the points, so it is better than paying with cash. For large purchases as well, most businesses prefer to take a credit card rather than a personal check, so you may not have the option of paying by check.

If you travel a lot, you can also benefit from a credit card that gives you air miles for the money you spend. When you accumulate enough air miles for a trip, then you basically have the trip free because you have it already paid for. Just keep in mind that in order to use the air miles you do have to book well in advance to fly at the lowest number of miles. Most of these cards do come with an annual fee, but it pays to shop around to find a card with the lowest annual fee or no fee at all.

As with improving customer benefits at similar price levels, you need to focus your organization's thinking first on producing solid pricing test proposals. Watch out for the tendency for everyone to want to defer to those in sales for price-adjusting tests. Although sales people will certainly be a good source, they will often not know about key operating factors that should influence your thinking.

An alternative approach is to built multi-functional teams (at least one person from each function) to develop price-testing proposals that will improve your competitive advantage. The more people who can filter their thinking into these teams, the more you will learn. But don't make the teams too large, of they will get bogged down.

If you have good relations with partners and suppliers, have them involved as well. You can also hold discussions with customers to understand the problems that pricing causes them now.

One business-model innovating company found that its pricing methods (not its prices) were by far its biggest barrier to improving customer relationships. A typical installation came with over 40 pages of invoices. How would you like to check through all that looking to see if you got all the little bits of wire that you were being charged for?

The following questions are intended to simplify your search for price-based business model advantages. Use them as starting points to creating your own questions that fit your situation the best.

How can you change the structure of your pricing to make it more attractive to buy increased volumes over what is purchased now from you?

In answering this question, you want to focus on making price disappear as much as possible from being a factor considered in purchase and usage decisions. You may find Disneyland's use of multiple-day and annual passports to encourage people to return after the first visit to be a good metaphor. What can you do that would work even better?

How can a new price structure reduce your costs?

This question will be a very fruitful one for you. It requires understanding how your current pricing policies affect your costs. For example, many companies offer large specials at the end of fiscal quarters, especially the fourth one. Almost every organization has resources that are idle and potentially available, incurring costs, for some portion of the 24 hour-a-day, 7 days-a-week world. People are awake and working or playing then somewhere on the globe. How can you use pricing to attract and provide offerings for those who would use your idle or under-used resources?

How can a better price structure expand the market faster?

Answering this question often requires understanding how your offerings fit into the customers' and end users' worlds. At many points along the line, the way you price your offerings inhibits purchase and use.

How can you turn that around so that pricing encourages purchase and use? For example, you could have discounts that reflected such low marginal costs that almost everyone would take the offering.

A similar thing happened when AT&T's cellular services put its One Rate plan in, that meant your price-per-minute for long distance calls was always the same.

Obviously, timing such breakthroughs to occur at times when you have plenty of spare capacity and your competitors don't is one such option. Be sure to think about that question because companies that employ new pricing models are often surprised by how much their volume increases. When one considers Dubais property market, there are two very distinctive sides to the real estate market that should be considered separately

There is the off plan property sector, which in the opinion of many property experts, the near-term will see profit potential softening as the ability to realize profits from buying and flipping throughout the development process requires ongoing strong demand from other property investors for this sort of property stock - and that demand is just not as evident in the market as it once was.

While there are still buyers snatching up the developments, it is obvious that developers have no need to accommodate other areas of the property market, also, why would they settle for less profit when far greater profits are guaranteed to developers through the construction and sale of luxury developments.

The Dubai government will need to enforce the construction and implementation of affordable housing. Should the government get involved in this, they will have limited direct impact on the luxury end of the market, as each end of the spectrum is of attraction to a different buyer types, investors and even developers.

Dubais political authority has a rather strong agenda. The government is on a mission to create a sustainable, affluent and attractive multi-dimensional destination and if any situation arises to undermine the long term ambitions it holds for the emirate then it may well intervene.

The fact that the government in Dubai has long term plans for Dubai and its surrounds; surely indicates the incredibly ambitious nature of the current Dubai government.

The recent governmental intervention by capping the rental return rates, to ensure the prevention of rental rates spiralling out of control, was a decision which was long considered by the Dubai political authorities.

By increasing the rental rates caps, the government has ensured they protect its residents and citizens, as well as protecting the Dubai economy whilst pulling the rein in on inflation.

Investors should make a consorted effort to understand the governments objectives, principles and vision, and should definitely not fear the government in Dubai, and its agendas.

Branding Your Business

In todays image-conscious world, branding has never been more important. If you are able to tap into the Zeitgeist, you will be well on your way to success.

Walk down any high street and take note of ten household brands. What style have they chosen for their logos? What image does the logo project? Your business may never need to appear on the high street, but imagine if your brand is eventually just as powerful and recognisable to the casual onlooker.

Creating a logo and a name for a business are closely connected and should really be decided upon at the same time. Remember, your business name and logo will become your brand.

One important tip: avoid at all costs a logo that looks in any way like male genitals - this is surprisingly easy to do by accident, and it won't win you many customers!

There's always a rush associated with launching a new business, often because there has already been a financial outlay and you need to get to market as soon as possible to recoup, or because you fear that someone else might be about to launch a similar business. Either way, you simply cannot rush the creation of your logo.

Do not be tempted to use one of the pre-designed (copyright-free) logos you can find in computer design software. It will quickly become apparent which one will work best to project the image that you want.

Another consideration when designing your logo should be whether it is suitable for all media. Although you may not intend to launch a website for your business, you should still find out how your logo would look at the top of a webpage. Would the logo work on a TV screen or on an enormous advertising hoarding in a big city? If your staff are going to wear uniforms, or if you plan to issue company T-shirts, is the logo transferable onto clothing? Does the logo work for you when it is very large, or very small? Ask your designer to work with a range of colours and also to create a version using only black and one other colour. Sometimes simple colours work best and if you use a whole rainbow of colours in your logo it will cost a lot more to reproduce. Full colour letterheads, business cards and adverts are considerably more expensive than two-colour versions. But don't lose sight of the main goal - you are creating a brand that you want to be stunning, instantly recognisable and with the potential to become synonymous with your business. If it costs a little extra to create the sign above the door because you simply have to have aquamarine blue, so be it.

9 Steps To Work From Home On The Internet And Finally Quit Your Job

1. Decide what you do very well that other people will pay to learn, or that you can make money with otherwise. Everyone has a special talent, a skill that they can do better than most other people. These are the people who will buy your products, support your site, tell other people about you, and read your paid advertisements. Take it slow; build your community one person at a time, and learn how to use RSS feeds, opt-in email newsletters, and forum or commenting tools to keep your fans coming back to you.

Be realistic when selling on eBay....

As some of you know, I spent many years buying and selling both on and offline and several of my products are based upon my own experience in this area. I know that the vast majority of my customers and subscribers have an interest in trading whether it is on eBay or at the local market but more and more I am seeing people with completely unrealistic expectations of what they will be able to do. Most commonly these unrealistic expectations are in respect of how much it actually costs to purchase specific products and what they can then be sold on for.

I regularly get emails from people who want to know where they can purchase products such as mobile (cell) phones, new release DVDs, Playstation games and similar at, say, a 50% discount to resell on eBay. The fact is that such a thing is not available - it is a simple case of supply and demand and competition.

Take DVDs for example, most people think that these are excellent products to resell on eBay because they are very popular, not particularly expensive and easy to package and ship. Unfortunately, they could not be more wrong. The DVD market is one of the most competitive that there is - take a look for yourself and see how many auctions there are on eBay for DVDs at any one time. I have just looked and counted almost 300,000! At any one time there will only be a certain number of buyers wanting to purchase a particular DVD and if you take into account the numerous different places there are that each buyer could purchase from, it is likely that in general, there will be more copies of an individual DVD available than there are buyers to purchase them. This situation causes prices to fall. The other factor that forces prices down is the fact that one DVD is the same as another. By this I mean that from a buyera� s point of view, there is no difference to a new DVD purchased on eBay to one which is purchased from their local DVD store. Often the only way to differentiate is on price and of course, the only way to make the price more attractive to a buyer is to lower it.

The above reasons help to explain why the wholesale discount on a new release DVD is just 1 or 2 at most ($2 or $3 roughly in the US). When you take into account the fact that the large retail chains can purchase thousands of DVDs at a time and receive a bigger discount than individual traders, you soon see why it is very difficult for a small business to compete in such a competitive industry. You simply cannot purchase new release DVDs at 50% discount and even if you could, it wouldn't be long before prices were forced down as there is always someone willing to sell a little bit cheaper than the next man.

It isn't just DVDs that fall into this category. Take mobile (cell) phones. Here in the UK you can walk down just about any high street and get the latest phones either free or for a minimal token payment. The stores are relying on making their money from the line rental contract that you will have to sign in order to get the phone. Of course, the actual cost of the phone is not free - most new mobiles are actually worth 200 or 300 which means that if you want to buy a batch of phones at wholesale, you are going to be looking at a pretty high unit cost. As with most electrical products, the market is competitive and prices have been forced down which means that the difference between your wholesale buying price and your retail selling price is minimal.

There are numerous products that suffer from the same market conditions as DVDs and phones and new/small traders really should avoid trying to sell such items at all costs because it will usually be frustrating and ultimately not financially rewarding. When trying to decide what products to sell, you need to be thinking about the type of market that a particular product is sold in. If there are already numerous sellers and many large companies selling at considerable discounts this is far from ideal. The exception to the rule is if you are able to add value in some way to make your 'offering' more unique. at the end of the day, it is all about research, being realistic and having an understanding of the market that you want to operate in. Whilst it would be great to be able to buy and sell new release DVDs (or whatever) all day long, doubling your money every time, I am afraid that this is just not going to happen.

The magic formula for building a highly successful and profitable business is simple when you apply the right information in just the right order. It's like baking a cake: Every ingredient needs to be added at just the right time and in just the right amount.

As you know by now, information on its own is useless without application. If it were only about gathering or having the right information, every librarian or bookworm would be a multimillionaire!

The first thing to get comfortable with is that there is no silver bullet. Those email and direct mail pitches promising overnight success if you take this teleclass or attend that seminar are designed to prey on your fear of failure. They imply that the only way to get the life you want is to buy whatever they are pitching, because that one thing has or is "The Answer."

Another "get rich quick" tactic is to generate an artificial sense of urgency or scarcity designed to convince you that this privileged information is only shared with a limited number of people and is only available for a short period of time. This can be a powerful sales ploy - after all, what if the one thing you don't buy is the one thing that you needed for a breakthrough?

Though there is no silver bullet, the good news is that you can build a million dollar business. We promise. The truth is that for most of us success doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. Granted, it can happen at an accelerated pace, but it doesn't happen in a few months. Although my last venture did enjoy a highly successful NASDQ IPO in just nine months and Murray's last company closed $75 million in revenues in just a year, those results are not typical and come around once in blue moon - and Murray and I both had built many businesses prior to those two particular successes.

So the primary key to being successful is having the right information in the right order... and backed by the right action plan. It doesn't matter what industry you're in, what type of business you have, what resources are available, or how much skill or experience you have. Having the right information in the right order is the way to start.

You must follow these three steps to build a million dollar business:

1. Obtain VISION through Diagnostics. You must understand exactly where you are and exactly where you are going what business tools you have mastered, and which tools you need to master or find, before moving to the second step. Without vision it is hard to get yourself and others excited. Choose a vision that will stir your passion and your soul.

2. Get FOCUSED through Planning. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and clearly define your target customer, products, and market. Then focus on exactly what you need for business growth and plan accordingly. Working off a plan is so much easier than winging it day in day out. Your company has to become a marketing and selling machine in order to make the millions you want.

3. Take ACTION through Implementation. With the clarity and insights from the first two steps, you are prepared to take the necessary actions to increase your revenues and profits. Now you can move forward and implement the plan you have created. Set daily, weekly and monthly goals for yourself and be sure to set up the systems you need, in order to make the goals a reality.

With those three steps come three of the most important questions that you must ask yourself every single day:

1. How do I make more profit from existing sales?
2. How do I get more sales from existing clients?
3. How do I attract more clients?

Concentrate on these three questions every day, take the actions that your answers point to, and watch your business grow!

Success, Wealth, And Freedom Are Yours When You Dont Wait For Anything Or Anyone and Do it Now

For years I would simply think or dream of what could be in my life, yet I would always let something get in the way of me actually DOING something about it. Sure I would have a problem with something and know I had to come up with a solution, but when it came time to working on it Id get distracted and start doing something completely unproductive and once hours went by and I had absolutely nothing to show for it Id get depressed and basically waste another day. After wasting a few days its very easy to get discouraged and give up all together, but you cant let that happen. In my experience and from what Ive seen from others, there are some commonalities as to why this happens to us.

Fear - Probably the single most common reason for not doing something right away is fear. We feel fear from so many things in life and can become paralyzed by it to such an extent that we dont even try something out of sheer terror. Some fear is understandable and can actually save your life by forcing you into action. If you feel fear when a giant bear is running towards you in a forest, thereby making you get the heck out of there as quickly as possible, thats a good thing Otherwise, imagine just standing there and being like, "oh, look at that cute furry animal coming my way; I think Ill pet it." I think you get my point.

Irrational fear on the other hand can be incredibly damaging if we let it control us. If we prevent ourselves from trying something based on the idea that we might fail then we lose the battle before it even started. The only way you can achieve success is to fail enough times and take something positive away from each and every one of those experiences. If you can learn from your failures and make adjustments, youll be that much closer to success. Most ultra-successful ideas came from people that took risks; that werent afraid to try out something new or difficult.

Now Im not saying to jump head first into problems and just try the first thing that comes to mind. Instead, carefully think of solutions or different ways of looking at the problem and take calculated risks once youve evaluated your actions or have tested possible outcomes and go from there.

Another type of fear is the fear of not being accepted by your family, friends, or peers. If you happen to have an idea or ideal for your life that doesnt sit well with the people around you, you have to understand that its your life and your decision only for what makes you truly happy. Many times others wont understand your intentions or will base their own values on whether or not you should do something, but thats the wrong way to think. You should always be able to step back from yourself and try to see something from another persons perspective so that you can gain a deeper understanding of what makes them tick. If people cant do that for you then feel free to try and explain your reasons, but stick to your guns and let them know its something you really want to do. Its good to take others feelings into consideration, but when it drives our own decisions to be based less on what we want and more on outside forces, we never get to accomplish anything that we deserve to have happen for ourselves.

The last type of fear may sound strange at first, but really does exist for millions more people than you would think and that is the fear of success. Many times we grow up in our own personal version of the world around us and dont realize what success looks like or how successful people are like as humans. Take the story of my life for example. Growing up, I didnt have anyone around me that I could say was truly successful and so I had no clue what it would be like to never worry about money or how it would feel to concentrate more on making myself and my family happy rather than being filled with worry and doubt. No matter what has happened to you in your life or the people around you, feeling this way is a downward spiral that results in nothing but negativity.

When I started my first business as a computer consultant I remember getting that first call and going over to the customers residence and quickly solving their problem. When they paid me for my services I actually felt strange...at first. I thought to myself that I fixed their problem so easily and that it was weird to take someones money when it was a simple problem. But where I was false in this mindset was in the fact that I had specialized knowledge that they did not. I offered my services at a fair price and they had their problem solved quickly, so there was no reason for me to feel odd about the whole process. I got over those feelings, of course, but always kept that lesson in my mind. Anything that you can do well or have unique training/knowledge for should never be thought of as a handicap, but rather something you can share with the world and if you charge for those services theres nothing wrong with that. Thats why theres millions of thriving businesses out there in the world that offer the rest of us something valuable and were all willing to pay for it so why not join in the fun

Laziness - Ok, people dont want to be called lazy, but lets be honest with ourselves here. From time to time were all lazy and put off important tasks that should be done immediately. I know Ive allowed myself to be lazy countless times when I was younger just to realize how much time I had wasted by doing so.

Some things in life are fun and some just plain arent, but are so important in the grand scheme of things that if theyre allowed to sit on the back burner too long will hurt you badly. Heres the problem: its much easier to be lazy than to work at accomplishing something; plain and simple. Were all experts on relaxing, but much less of us know how to get things done in the most efficient way possible.

Whenever you have an idea for something, get it out of your head and into a more permanent form that can be referenced to when you need it. Most experts will always tell you to get a piece of paper and write it down, but for some reason I personally havent always liked that approach, but thats just me. The point is to do something with that information whether it is to write it down, record your thoughts into a voice recorder, or type it out into a computer. Theres something about getting the ideas out of your head and into a more permanent medium that allows you to work on them easier. Its as if youre making those thoughts a reality by recording them, which makes it more likely to do something productive with.

Dont be a "put-offer." Every day we all have tons of things vying for our attention that can interrupt whatever were doing at the time. What we end up doing is putting off important tasks because we make excuses by doing other things that could probably wait in the first place. When you sit down at your computer to work on something, dont let yourself get distracted by these things. Weve created numerous distractions that get in our way constantly such as email, games, cell phones, etc. We find excuses to use these distractions all day long every day and if you added up the time spent with them, youd be shocked how much more time you have to work with each day and be productive.

When theres something youre working on or want to get started, remove anything that could interrupt your focus. Dont check email all day long, but only at specific times. Refrain from playing little games here and there to waste time. Turn off cell phones/land lines and check messages at predetermined intervals. Let loved ones know youre going to be busy for a certain amount of time. Block off a couple hours here and there to specifically focus your attention on one problem at a time and dont move onto the next until the previous has been finished.

Just remember that the key to being productive and efficient with anything you do lies within your attitude toward starting those projects in the first place. If you always follow these steps youll quickly become vastly faster at your work and will see that you get more done in less time than youve ever thought possible. Just making some small changes to how you begin your work can have dramatic results on how efficiently it gets finished.
